KIIT NSS Bureau celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas-2023 on 26 th July 2023.NSS volunteers from different schools marched towards Campus 5 from Campus 3 in a silent rally with placards on Green KIIT-Green India. A mega plantation drive at KIMS Lawn (Campus 5) was organised at 8 am. NSS volunteers actively participated for the plantation drive planting 120 plants. Programme Officers Dr. Bidu Bhusan Dash and Dr. Prabhat Kumar Rout along with Programme Officers of other Units facilitated the plantation drive.
The talk and cultural programme was organised in Campus 17Auditorium, KIIT School of Architecture at 6:15 pm. Prof Kajal Parashar, Programme Coordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau delivered the welcome address. Prof Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Hon’ble Registrar, KIIT-DU addressed the gathering. Lt Col Manish Dogra, Additional Director of Training, NCC Directorate, Odishashared his experience regarding operation Vijay during the Kargil War. Lt. Col Dogra, during his inspirational speech, highlighted the systematic plans and methodically executed operations in the dominating peaks occupied by the enemy that were attacked and recaptured. The operation was a unique display of bravery, resolve and commitment under inhospitable conditions of terrain and weather. Lt. Col Manish Dogra was felicitated by Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty and Prof. Kajal Parashar.
On this occasion,Dr. Smruti Ranjan Dash, Programme Officer, KSFH administered the Panch Pran Pledge to the volunteers. As part of cultural programmes, NSS volunteers Ishan Mukherjee, and Suraj Singh and his team mesmerized the audience with the patriotic songs. Followed by an orientation programme on‘Yuva Portal’ and steps to register on portal was conducted by Bibhu Kalyani, NSS Volunteer. The event was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Dr. S. Dash.More than 400 volunteers actively participated and celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas.
