Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences

NSS (National Service Scheme) Dental Wing, the work agenda can be centered on community oral-health service, prevention, awareness, screening, and referral which fits the broader NSS goal of community service and the objectives of India’s National Oral Health Programme. NSS Dental Wing – - Oral health awareness events are conducted, where Oral hygiene and correct brushing technique are demonstrated, Awareness on dental caries and gum diseases, Diet and oral health counselling, School dental health programmes, Dental screening of school children are organised once in every month positively apart from special or collaboration with other NSS wing or any special event. - We have adopted a complete village and have irradicated their oral health issues -Tobacco cessation & oral cancer awareness rallies on road along with educating the shop vender as well as the customers about the hazards of tobacco consumption - Teaching Oral self-examination awareness to anganwadi heads for early detection of any kind of oral malignancy or any benign oral lesions -Oral health of elderly people , Children with special needs, Pregnant women are also conducted on regular basis.

DENTAL SCREENING AND TREATMENT CAMP

On 9 July 2026, KIDS, in association with KIIT NSS, conducted a community dental outreach program at the HMV Driver Training Institute, Chhatia, inspired by the “Art of Giving” philosophy. The program screened 65 individuals, identifying dental caries, calculus, stains, periodontal conditions, and tobacco-related oral lesions. Scaling was provided to 20 beneficiaries, while others received preventive care, counseling, and referrals. Participants were educated on proper brushing, balanced nutrition, oral hygiene, and the harmful effects of tobacco. The initiative strengthened KIDS’s commitment to accessible dental care and preventive oral health awareness in the community.

05 Aug 2026 HMV DRIVER TRAINING INSTITUTE CHHATIA

Dental Health Camp

Creating healthier smiles through community outreach, the Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS), in association with the KIIT National Service Scheme (KIIT-NSS), conducted a Dental Health Camp at Vivekananda School. During the initiative, 47 students were screened, and 14 students received the required dental treatment, ensuring timely care and intervention. The camp emphasized preventive oral healthcare, early diagnosis, and oral hygiene awareness among young learners. Through such impactful initiatives, KIDS and KIIT-NSS continue to strengthen their commitment to community welfare by delivering quality dental services and fostering healthier habits for a brighter, healthier future.

Dental Health Camp

The Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), successfully conducted the Camp in Sai Satya School Dental Health to promote oral health awareness among school children. During the camp, 141 students were screened, ensuring timely care and preventive support. The initiative focused on early diagnosis, oral hygiene education, and encouraging healthy dental practices among young learners. This camp reflects our commitment to community service and improving public health through outreach programs. Together, we continue to spread healthy smiles and build a healthier future for every child.

Dental Health Camp

Prioritizing oral health beyond clinical settings, the Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS), in association with the KIIT National Service Scheme (KIIT-NSS), organized a Dental Health Camp at Biju Patnaik Stadium Sports Camp. The initiative successfully screened 76 participants, offering comprehensive oral health assessments and personalized preventive care guidance. By promoting early diagnosis and reinforcing the importance of oral hygiene among young athletes and participants, the camp highlighted the vital connection between oral health and overall well-being. Such outreach programs reflect the continued dedication of KIDS and KIIT-NSS to advancing community health through accessible, quality dental care.

Dental Health Camp

The Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS), in association with the KIIT National Service Scheme (KIIT-NSS), successfully organized a Dental Health Camp at Jankia Village to enhance access to quality oral healthcare. A total of 83 individuals were screened, receiving comprehensive dental examinations and personalized oral health guidance. The initiative focused on promoting preventive dental care, raising awareness about oral hygiene, and facilitating the early detection of dental conditions. This outreach program reflects the shared commitment of KIDS and KIIT-NSS to community service, public health promotion, and improving the overall well-being of underserved populations through accessible and compassionate healthcare initiatives.

Dental Health Camp

The Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a successful Dental Health Camp at the AMA BUS Gadakana Depot as part of its commitment to community outreach and preventive healthcare. A total of 42 individuals were screened, providing them with comprehensive oral health check-ups and valuable guidance on maintaining good dental hygiene. The camp emphasized early detection of oral health issues, awareness about preventive care, and the importance of regular dental examinations. Through such initiatives, KIDS and NSS continue to serve the community by promoting healthier smiles and improving overall oral health awareness

20 Feb 2026 AMA BUS Gadakana Depot

KIDS EXPRESS | Keonjhar Outreach Initiative

Over three impactful days, the Department of Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry, Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS), in association with KIIT National Service Scheme (NSS), successfully conducted a comprehensive dental outreach across Keonjhar. A total of 750 children were screened, with preventive and curative dental treatments provided alongside oral health education sessions. The initiative reached underprivileged tribal children and children with hearing impairment, ensuring quality oral healthcare where it is needed most. We sincerely thank our Honourable Founder, Prof. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, whose vision of compassionate service continues to inspire meaningful community outreach and healthier smiles for every child.
