KIIT School of Biotechnology

The NSS unit of KSBT is committed to promoting social responsibility, community service, and environmental awareness among students. Throughout the year, it organizes several impactful activities that encourage active participation and civic engagement. One of its major initiatives is the Blood Donation Camp, where students and faculty voluntarily donate blood to support patients in need and raise awareness about the importance of regular blood donation. The unit also conducts Cleanliness Drives in and around the campus to promote hygiene, sanitation, and a cleaner environment. In addition, Plantation Drives are organized to encourage environmental conservation, increase green cover, and spread awareness about sustainable living. Through these activities, the NSS unit of KSBT instills the values of compassion, teamwork, discipline, and service, inspiring students to become responsible and socially conscious citizens

7 DAY NSS SPECIAL CAMP

The NSS KSBT Special Camp was conducted from 14th to 21st March 2026 at Bengali Sahi and Shikharchandi with active participation from NSS volunteers. Throughout the seven days, various social, cultural, environmental, and awareness-based activities were organized, including introductory community interaction sessions, painting and dance competitions, trekking and cleanliness drives, drug-free and road safety awareness rallies, government scheme awareness campaigns, sanitary pad distribution, quiz competitions, sports activities for children, prize distribution, and cultural performances. The camp promoted teamwork, social responsibility, environmental awareness, creativity, and community engagement, reflecting the dedication and service spirit of rural development and social welfare.

14 Mar 2026 Bengali Sahi and Shikharchandi

K-Envirocon

K-Envirocon, held on 9th March, was a successful conference focused on environmental research and innovation. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed foreign professors who shared their valuable knowledge and enlightened participants about current ongoing research and advancements in the field of environment and sustainability. A poster presentation competition was also organized, where students showcased their research ideas and projects, which were judged by the visiting professors. Around 250 volunteers actively participated and contributed to the smooth organization and success of the conference. The event promoted scientific learning, research exposure, and international academic interaction among participants.

MEGA BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The Mega Blood Donation Camp organized by NSS KSBT on 31st January at Campus 13 was a successful and noble initiative aimed at promoting humanity and social responsibility. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, staff, and volunteers, with around 260 people contributing to this noble cause through blood donation. The event highlighted the importance of saving lives and encouraging community service among youth. Proper arrangements and medical support ensured the smooth conduct of the camp. The initiative reflected the spirit of unity, compassion, and dedication towards society, making the event a remarkable success for NSS KSBT.

AWARENESS CAMP

An awareness camp was organized by NSS KSBT in collaboration with Moon Memorial Trust (MMT) on 11th January at Bengali Sahi, the adopted village of NSS KSBT. The program focused on spreading awareness about women’s health, menstrual hygiene, care for pregnant women, and child health. The camp aimed to educate and encourage healthy practices among the villagers. Around 60 volunteers actively participated in the event, making it a meaningful and impactful initiative. The session helped create awareness about important health issues and reflected the commitment of NSS KSBT and MMT towards community welfare and social development.

11 Jan 2026 Bengali Sahi

MENTAL HEALTH AWARNESS

A Mental Health Awareness Program was organized by NSS KSBT on 16th December to spread awareness about the importance of mental well-being among volunteers. The event aimed to encourage open discussions on stress, emotional health, and the need for a positive mindset. Around 100 volunteers actively participated in the program and were motivated to prioritize their mental health and support others facing difficulties. The session created a supportive environment where volunteers gained valuable knowledge about mental wellness and healthy coping strategies. The initiative reflected NSS KSBT’s commitment towards promoting awareness, positivity, and volunteer well-being.

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

NSS KSBT organized a series of events in KSBT on 17th October as part of the Diwali celebration, including a cleanliness drive, rangoli competition, and cultural competition. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, creativity, cultural values, and teamwork among students and volunteers. Around 70 volunteers actively participated in organizing and conducting the events, while nearly 40 participants enthusiastically took part in the competitions. The celebrations created a joyful and vibrant atmosphere on the campus and encouraged unity, social responsibility, and cultural expression. The successful event reflected the dedication and enthusiasm of NSS KSBT volunteers and participants.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

A Teachers’ Day Celebration was organized on 22nd September at Biju Patnaik Memorial High School to honor and appreciate the valuable contributions of teachers in shaping students’ lives and society. The event included various cultural activities, speeches, and interactions that expressed gratitude and respect towards the teachers. NSS KSBT volunteers actively participated in organizing and conducting the celebration successfully. Around 50 volunteers enthusiastically took part in the event, creating a joyful and respectful atmosphere in the school. The program reflected the importance of teachers in education and highlighted the spirit of service, respect, and community engagement promoted by NSS KSBT.
