KIIT School of Management

Greetings from the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of KIIT School of Management! Guided by the NSS motto, "Not Me But You," our unit is dedicated to nurturing socially responsible leaders who believe in serving communities with empathy, integrity, and purpose. Our volunteers actively participate in initiatives focused on community welfare, health, education, environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and humanitarian service. Through these meaningful engagements, students develop leadership, teamwork, compassion, and civic responsibility while creating a positive social impact. As future leaders and change-makers, we remain committed to promoting inclusivity, sustainability, and responsible citizenship, inspiring individuals to lead with purpose and contribute towards building a better society.

KHUSIYON KI MEHFIL

The NSS Unit successfully organized “Khusiyon Ki Mehfil” on 23rd March 2026 at CAMPUS 7, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for students and faculty members. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 students and volunteers. Various interactive activities, including quizzes, games, creative challenges, music, dance, and open-stage performances, were conducted to promote teamwork, creativity, and social interaction. The programme provided students with a refreshing break from academic stress while strengthening unity and campus bonding. Faculty and staff were also appreciated through thoughtful gestures. The event effectively promoted inclusivity, mental well-being, collaboration, and community spirit among participants.

BEAT THE HEAT 2.0

The NSS Unit successfully organized “Jal Raksha and Beat the Heat 2.0” on the occasion of World Water Day, combining environmental awareness with humanitarian service. The initiative focused on promoting water conservation through multilingual pamphlet distribution and public interaction across KIIT campuses and nearby areas. Volunteers also distributed water bottles, fruits, and juices to frontline workers, including traffic police, sanitation staff, and security personnel, to provide relief from extreme heat. The programme enhanced awareness regarding sustainable water usage, encouraged responsible environmental practices, and fostered empathy towards essential workers.

FIRE AWARENESS AND MOCK DRILL

The NSS Unit successfully organized a “Fire Awareness and Mock Drill” programme to promote safety awareness and emergency preparedness among students and volunteers. Conducted in collaboration with the Odisha Fire Service team, the event witnessed active participation from over 100 students and NSS volunteers. Expert-led sessions and live demonstrations provided practical knowledge on fire hazards, evacuation procedures, the Fire Triangle, and the proper use of different fire extinguishers. Participants also gained hands-on experience through a mock drill under professional supervision. The programme significantly disaster preparedness while contributing to the creation of a safer and more aware campus environment.

MISSION MUSKAAN: AN ORPHANAGE VISIT

The NSS Unit of KSOM organized “Mission Muskaan” at Ramakrishna Balashram with the participation of 84 NSS volunteers, aiming to spread joy, compassion, and emotional support among children. The programme aligned with SDG 3, SDG 10, and SDG 16 by promoting well-being, inclusion, and community care. Volunteers engaged the children through games, singing sessions, dance performances, a skit by NSS SCE, and a talent showcase, creating a cheerful and interactive atmosphere. Prize distribution, cake cutting, refreshments, and gift distribution added to the celebration.

22 Feb 2026 Ramakrishna Balashram, Chandaka, Bhubaneswar

MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOP & VIJAY DIWAS CELEBRATION

The NSS Unit of KSOM organized Project UMEED on 16th December 2025 at the Campus 7 Auditorium to spread awareness about mental health and emotional well-being. The event aligned with SDG 3, SDG 4, and SDG 10, promoting holistic development and inclusivity. Around 115 NSS volunteers, students, faculty members, and guests participated enthusiastically. Insightful sessions by Squadron Leader Sabyasachi Mishra and Rajnish Ranjan highlighted mental resilience, stress management, and emotional balance. Cultural performances, including dance, Nukkad Natak, and music, creatively addressed mental health stigma and hope.

STAND FOR RIGHTS AWARENESS RALLY

The NSS Unit successfully organized the “Stand for Rights Awareness Rally” to promote awareness about human rights, equality, and social justice among students and the community. The rally witnessed active participation from over 80 NSS volunteers and was conducted from Campus 7 to Campus 3 via KIIT Road to maximize public outreach. Through posters, slogans, public interaction, and a Human Rights Oath, participants effectively spread messages of dignity, inclusivity, and non-discrimination. The programme encouraged civic responsibility and inspired individuals to stand against injustice and inequality.

10 Dec 2025 KIIT SQUARE

SRIJAN: EKTA KE RANG

The NSS Unit of KSOM organized “Srijan: Ekta ke Rang” on 31st October 2025 at Kotler Hall, KIIT Campus 7, to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and promote unity, creativity, and togetherness among students. The event featured a Handmade Poster Making Competition with around 25 participants expressing themes of national harmony through art and messages. It was judged by Prof. (Dr.) Abhishek Kumar and Prof. (Dr.) Anubhav Mishra. Dance performances, poetry recitations, the “Wall of Unity” activity, and a selfie stand added vibrancy to the celebration.
